Above photo, circa 1909 shows licensee, George Prickett, taking delivery of about 20 cases of quart flagons of beer, which was brewed by George Beer's Star Brewery, Broad Street, Canterbury.

Above photo, circa 1914 photo features Mr & Mrs Prickett and driving the trap, Mr G (George?) Harley, who lived at 5, Albert Terrace, Bridge.

 

The "Rose" was a beer house and general store, which also offered villagers the use of a telephone.

I am informed by local Alan Barber that  George Prickett was born in 1868 died in 1938, and that of Mr G Harley his first name was Gillaway born 1851 died 1923
