Dartford

Sugar Loaf token

Above showing both side of the farthing token stamped HENRY PEIRCE OF undated on one side and on stamped DERTFORD IN KENT on the reverse with the letters P H M.

Sugar Loaf farthing token

Above showing a similar farthing of HENRY PEIRCE OF, and DERTFORD IN KENT on the reverse. This one only has the letters H P in the centre.

Possibly a public house, location unknown, but more likely to have been from a Grocer's as they favoured this sign due to selling bread etc. Although undated these were quite prolific in and around 1666

The Arms shown could just be a Guild Crest and not Arms as is public house, as these tokens were popular for both types of establishments during the mid 17th century, and were used to pay for goods in the premises named.
