PUB LIST PUBLIC HOUSES Paul Skelton

Earliest 1669-

Unknown Name

Latest 1669+

Deal

Half penny token

Above showing both side of the half-penny token stamped IOHN LOBDELL IN DEALE and the symbol of a pair of scissors. The reverse says HIS HALF PENY 1669.

More than likely a Taylor's, location unknown,  although these tokens were also used in public houses.

The Arms shown could just be a Guild Crest and not Arms as is public house, as these tokens were popular for both types of establishments during the mid 17th century, and were used to pay for goods in the premises named.
