Farthing token of William Stone 1652

Above showing both side of the farthing token stamped WILLIAM STONE around a S over W A on one side and IN DEPTFORD 1652 around a S over W A on the other.

This may have been an inn but not exclusively, as these tokens were also used for other tradesman's shops, a lot of these were used for a Grocer's trade in the period.

The Arms shown could just be a Guild Crest and not Arms as is public house, as these tokens were popular for both types of establishments during the mid 17th century, and were used to pay for goods in the premises named.
