Dhiraj Rai, a former Gurkha soldier, has purchased The Dragoon pub
in Maidstone with plans to reopen it as The Invicta Arms, serving
traditional English and Nepalese food. The pub closed in January
2023 and faced redevelopment proposals that were rejected.
Renovations, supervised by Rai and his Army colleague Dip Rai, are
ongoing, addressing extensive damage from theft and disrepair.
Completion is expected by mid-April.
