Deal library mentioning a valuation list of public houses in April 1804 and this one referred to as the "Rodney" somewhere in Beach Street, with the licensee being a Richard Cock.

Further research says location is said to have been on the east side of town, between Oak Street and Brewer Street, at number 40 Beach Street and again simply referred to as simply the "Rodney" in 1828.

All that messuage or tenement No.40 in Beach Street, lately used as, and known by the name of the "Rodney" Public House with the buildings, ground and appurtenances thereunto belonging and now in the occupation of James Tomlin. These premises are subject to a lease granted to John Iggulden Esq. for 21 years from 29th September 1814 at the yearly rent of £1.15s.6d. and to a Covenant  therein contained for renewal thereof for a like term of 21 years at the end of 18 of the existing term, upon payment of a fine of £17.17s.0d. (Note, sold to Mr. Iggulden.)
