Opened as a sports pub in 1995, no one ever knew whether Buddy Allen was a real person or not. According to Wikipedia Buddy Allen was actually Elihu "Buddy" Allen, Junior, born on the 11th July, 1937, and is a former professional American football halfback., who played professionally for the Denver Bronco's in 1961.

The premises was decorated with American football and basketball pictures on the ceiling.

They closed in 2000 for a quick refit and opened shortly afterwards as "Bar Extreme."
