Also known at different times as the "Breeze Bar," "Livin Room," "Zu," "Cubaa," and "Fresh."

It's full name was the "Cubaa Cafe Bar" and was more of a wine bar than a public house.

It gained a Public Entertainment Licence for a period of 9 months to operate between 12.00 hours and 23.00 hours, Monday to Saturday inclusive, but the beer garden was not to be used after 21.00 hours.

June 1996 the licensee Mr. Venables was prosecuted for an infringement of the Public Entertainment Licence, and it seems went bankrupt shortly afterwards.

The premises was then transformed into "Zu."

VENABLES Michael Frederick, of and trading from 14 Nutley Close, Kennington, Ashford, TN24 8YA, as a Painetr and Decorator, and lately trading with another as the proprietor of the "Cubaa Wine Bar," 59 Northgate, Canterbury, CT1 1BB, all in Kent Court - CANTERBURY. No of Matters - 425 of 1997 Date of Bankruptcy Order - 6th April 1998. these proceedings were previously advertised in The London Gazette on 16th March 1998, under the description Venables Michael, of 14 Nutley Close, Kennington, Ashford, Kent, TN24 8YA. Lately trading from 59 Northgate, Canterbury, Kent, CT1 1BB, under the style of Cubaa Wine bar Official Receiver - 50 New Dover Road, Canterbury, Kent. CT1 3DT.
