POLICE COURT

Guildhall, Monday May 28th 1858

Before W. Netherside Esq., Mayor, and S. Pritchard Esq.

Sarah Harvey, of Ramsgate, preferred a charge of assault against Eliza Bradley of Folkestone, for hurling a tumbler at her head on the night of Saturday, 23rd last, while they were drinking together at the "Dover Castle" Beer House, in Middle Street thereby inflicting a wound on a very dangerous part.

It appeared from defendant's statement, that the assault was not altogether unprovoked and as no witnesses were produced on either side, the magistrates bound over both parties to keep the peace towards each other for three months.

17th May 1862.

CHARLES SUTTON, landlord of the Dover Castle, beer-house, in Middle Street, was charged with keeping his house open for the sale of beer between 3 and 5 o'clock on Sunday afternoon and was fined 10/- and 4/6d costs.
