Men of Kent Location unknown
I have just been informed that the pub I had listed as the "Men of Kent" in Rainham is actually known as the "Man of Kent." However, the above pictures of the inn signs that I was told came from that pub, must indeed come from another, but which one in Kent. The two gentlemen actually look like Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson, so is this perhaps a clue? Over to you.
Michael Mirams to the rescue again, who says this is indeed the "Men of Kent" and he took a photo of it just after it had apparently closed in 2009. Incidentally, I think the bloke on the left is Charles Dickens, not Dr. Watson!
I therefore suggest that as I believe the pub was only called this for 1
year from between 2008 and 2009 that the dating of the signs is inaccurate.
However, looking at the lettering the signs certainly look different to me
and could well span those years. So, when did the Man become Men? |
