This one is from Paul Canty who says he has found this photo and would like to identify the location. Only clues I have is the phone number of 3816 and the name of which part is shown that looks like F. A. Elley. There may be a public house two doors to the left and the name of Fowler on the building on the left. Over to you. Rory Kehoe says the following:- The Police car (licence plate KRD 297) was registered in Reading, before 1963 when "A" prefixed plates were introduced. If this incident took place in the Reading area, the police will either have been from the City of Reading force, or the Berkshire Constabulary: both constituent units of the 1968 merger of 5 forces to form Thames Valley Constabulary. SOLVED BY RORY KEHOE. The offie was F. A. Elley, situated at 81, King's Road, Reading, Berkshire. The picture was taken c.1955/56. The only thing I don't know is why Fremlin's would have had an offie as far away as Reading, which was very much Simond's territory. I'm certain there'll be a story behind this and just as surely, there'll be a reason how and why the A30 (A35?) got wrapped around a lamp post!
