King's Head

This one has been sent by Valero Tzicuris from France who says the following:- "My name is Valerio and I live in France, near Rouen (Normandy). I recently found this sign at a sale near my home. While I was looking for information about this object, I came across your blog. The name "King's Head" and the date (1717) led me to you. Can you tell me where this object comes from, and more importantly, what its history is?

Sorry to say I have a list of almost 70 pubs with the name of "King's Head" in Kent alone, so unless someone out there can identify this one, or further information comes to light, I think it could well remain a mystery as to which pub, if indeed one from Kent, it came from.
