Yew Tree Trophies, 1960s.

Ken Chapman has recently acquired a huge bundle of photos, presumably from the Ray Warner collection. Many from local pubs in the Dover area and all from the mid 1960s. Local knowledge needed as to which pub and who the people are.

This little lot are titled “Men with trophies at the Yew Tree” The images are also marked “Coal” so they were taken for the “Coal News” - I know this because there are other non-pub related images that are marked “coal” and a note inside one of them explains that they are for inclusion in the “Coal News” publication.

The large Rose Bowl is engraved “Tilmanstone Colliery Division” and “Open to teams in East Kent” but I’m not sure what they were awarded for.

Is this the "Yew Tree" in Barfrestone, or the "Yew Tree" in Deal?
