1939-45 Identified as Ship Inn, Aldborough, Boroughbridge, near York.
Natasha writes to me with a picture of a pub and the following request:- "Hiya, my names Natasha, I'm hoping you can help me or point me in the right direction. I have this photo of my grandad outside a pub in the uk and was wanting help on the location. Information has been very hard to track down and this is the only thing I have of him. We think the date could be between 1939 and 1945." Thanks, Tash."
Well, on first inspection I though the pub would have been called the "Maget," but that sign is misleading as looking closer at the sign it is actually called the "Ship Inn," and it's definitely a John Smith's pub. Their brewery being in Tadcaster, so probably out of my area, but if anyone knows which pub it is, please let me know.

Michael Mirams has come up trumps yet again. This one has been identified as the "Ship Inn" at Aldborough, Boroughbridge, near York, and it's still open.
