(Name from)

Fitz the Music Place

Latest Mid 1998

(Name to)

St. George's Lane

Canterbury

Earliest mention I have found to date is reference to the "Coach and Horses" that was a tied house of Shepherd Neame in the late 1980s, although I do not know how old the building was. By the early 1990s it was sold by Shepherd Neame and changed name to "Fools and Horses." This remained as such until about 1996 when it again changed name, this time to "Dundees," but early in 1998 it again changed name, this time to an establishment titled "Fitz the Music Place." That lasted merely a few months to mid 1998 and again changed name with it's original theme to simply the "Coach House," where it remained under that name for almost a year till April 1999. After that date and until its demolition in the autumn of 2000 it was actually used as its name should of suggested, as a temporary Stagecoach East Kent bus travel and booking office. Today, it is part of the Whitefriar's Shopping Centre.
