Fox sign

Above picture is the best one I have found so far, not actually of the "Fox" itself, but just of the sign on the right.

I have traced this pub as early as 1858, but further research by Glover & Rogers suggest it goes back to some time between 1843 and 1846 when Dover brewers Alfred Kingsford sold the property.

In 1877 the deal Licensing Records show that a full licence was applied for but refused.

The pub closed in 1915 but the landlord John Roberts remained living there to at least 1916. In 1920 it was apparently sold by auction for £550 and demolished shortly after November 1925.
