The earliest mention of a "Half Moon", being listed in "Annuals of Dover" by John Bavington Jones (1916) and taken from a list of 16th Century Victualling Houses and Inns from the 1545 census shows a Half Moon being present in Biggin Street offering 3 beds and the licensee being Roger Bund. The other "Half Moon" being in Blucher Row or Street during the mid nineteenth century.
