Mentioned once in the History Gazeteer and Directory of the County of Kent 1847, published and sold by Samuel Bagghan, Philadelphia, Sheffield,  as being a beerhouse at 11 Silver Street and under the rule of Henry E Norris. Also mentioned in Bagshaws directory of the same year, but no name of pub given in that directory.

By 1861 the premises became a mere lodging house without license and is now a private residence.
