 Notes of 1840

 

 

From the Dover Telegraph of 26 September 1840.

"The proprietors of several beer-houses in this town intend to apply for a license to sell spirits at the next licensing day at Margate."

 

From the Kentish Gazette, 18 February 1840.

Last week, W. Bayford, supervisor, and W. Edds, officer of excise, seized 13 barrels of beer, at the Sandgate Brewery, containing Colculus Indicus.
