Publicans licence refused.

An application for a publican's licence by a Margate seafront restaurant owner was refused by Margate licensing magistrates on Wednesday.

The request was made by Mr. George Georgiou of the "Argonauts restaurant," Marine Gardens.

Chairman of the magistrates, Mr. George Brown, told Mr. Georgiou that the court had been generous when it granted a licence for the restaurant a few years ago and it had decided not to grant the latest application.
