This hotel has been demolished, date unknown. I am also informed that the bar may not have been open to non residents.

Further information tells me that the hotel was in fact a temperance hotel, so served no alcohol at all and was named after the proprietor.

Richard Ticknall kindly informs me that it was demolished in the early 2000s for roundabout/road development by International railway station.

As time allows and I find or are sent further information or pictures regarding this pub I will be adding further information to this page.

Your help is appreciated.

Aberdeen Evening Express, Tuesday 23 April 1968.

Missing Cruiser Safe.

A sea and air search was called off the today after a missing 25 ft motor cruiser, Lady Jasmine, turned up safely at Boulogne Harbour this morning.

The cruiser was reported missing in dense fog between Calais and Folkestone yesterday.

Aboard were Mr Cyril Stockley, an Ashford (Kent) councillor, and his wife, of the "Butchers Commercial Hotel."

They had left Calais to follow the cross-channel ferry home.
