Above postcard, circa 1911, kindly sent by Rory Kehoe. Showing the side
view of the building, taken from Grange Road, looking down Willson's
Road. When this photograph was taken, the Hotel de Ville would have been
quite a far-flung outpost for Ind, Coope's Romford and Burton Ales.
Edwardian-era advert for Ind Coop's beers circa 1906.

Above matchbox, circa 1980s, kindly send by Debi Birkin. |
I'm not sure about the connection between the "Hotel de Ville" and "Sangers
Restaurant" but apparently the "Hotel de Ville" was once called the
"Sanger's Hotel."
