The pub was originally called the "Swan." The locals always used to refer to the "Swan" as the "Mucky Duck" but it wasn't renamed until a change of brewery, date unknown. Unfortunately the building was demolished when the new A20 and rail link were built. The location was between the two bridges and where the new High Speed track was laid.
