PROVIDENCE MOVES.

As reported in the later edition of the Advertiser & Echo last week, the application for the transfer of the licence of the "Providence Tavern," Queen Street, Ramsgate, to a house to be erected on the Newington Estate was granted by the Licensing Justices on Friday.

The house is to be erected by Messrs. Tomson and Wotton. Ltd, and the license is to be held by Mr. Alfred Isaac Danton.

The Rec. T. Hancocks, pastor of Cavendish Baptist Church, Mrs. E. E. Perry, of the British Woman's Temperance Association, Mrs. Hawkins and several residents on the estate spoke against the granting of the licence.

The application was made by Mr. L. C. Fletcher.
