1-2 Longport Street Canterbury
Originally Augustines Restaurant in March 2009, and still a restaurant, this time Chinese, but going under the name of the "Royal Inn" suggesting it is a public house. But I believe it is just a restaurant. Further research by Rory Kehoe tells me that the "Royal Inn," Longport never was an inn/pub. Until recently (i.e. before the Chinese restaurant known as the "Royal Inn" opened circa 2007) the building was the Longport Restaurant. he says he remembers eating there in the 1980s! Before that, it has variously been a house, a shop and a furniture makers but never a pub. So, anyone telling me it's a public house, the above explains that it isn't.
