Willow Tap locals late 1930s

But Bill Weaver, now 87, of Mill House, was able to name almost all of them. He grew up at Front Brents and most of the people pictured lived there around the late 1930s.

He gives the names as: Phil Beckett, Jimmy Rains, "Bon" Gregory, Alf and Maud Harris, Bill Jacobs, Alec (Ponk) Gamble, Bill Burney, Mill White, Geo Stedman, Harry (surname unknown), Mr. and Mrs. Sheepwash, Charlie Beer, Bob Jemmett, Rhoda Belsom, Mrs. Downs, Mary Lane, Rose and Les Queen, Harry Pepper, Lester Stevens, "Aunt Polly", Mrs Gregory, Tom White, Bill and Phyll Kelly (landlord and landlady) and Midge and George Payne.

Traced to as early as 1850 but closed in the 2000s and is now a private residence called "Creek House."

Caitlin Doyle tells me the following:- "The building in the photo is near the "Albion Tavern." The road that it's on is more commonly known as the Upper Brents. I think on some maps this road is also called Church Road."

Now being used as two residential premises, one called Creek House and the other Willow Tap Cottage.
