Amongst those who obtained licenses for the sale of spirits at the recent licensing day, was Mr. Maskell, "York Arms," King-street, and Mr. Morris, "Crispin," Belle Vue-hill.

From the Kentish Chronicle and General Advertiser, 23 November, 1861. Price 1 1/2d.

James Bubbs, landlord of the “York Arms," was charged with having on Sunday, the 10th instant, opened his house for the sale of beer before half-past 12 o clock.

Defendant pleaded guilty.

Fined 10s. and costs 10s.

Money paid.

The premises started of as private dwelling and licenses around 1870, although I do appear to have licensees listed as early as 1851.
