I have also seen this hotel addressed as in Hythe and have been informed that it changed name to the "Sea View Hotel" but as yet date unknown. Further research suggests that it may have always been known as the "Sea View Hotel" but being as in Seabrook was often referred to as both names, or indeed changed back to the "Seabrook" again later in life.

The hotel may have closed around 1984-85 as there was a planning application in 1985 when it was being run by Frederick's Hotels, to turn it into a care home.

In 1994 it became a Centre for Spiritual Healing and Counselling which probably closed as such around 2010 when a further planning application was applied for showing a change of use from a centre for spiritual healing to a care home.

The applicant was a firm called Cautley Care PPL – a name which can be seen on the current (2018) Google Earth street view photos. This company was formed in January 2011 which ties in with 2011 being the planning application. I don’t think it ever became a care home as Cautley Care PPL was dissolved in May 2016. The premises are currently (2018) called “Cautley House.”

Further local knowledge and any pictures, old or current would be appreciated until I can get into the area myself.

Just been informed in May 2022 that the premises has been demolished.
