69 Beach Street. Deal
Originally called the "Ship" but changed name to the "Seagull" on 7 May 1857 when it was transferred to Edmund Hadlow. Evidentially, Samuel Baker the previous landlord, murdered an Ensign named McCarroll there and so not wanting to be associated with murder the name was changed. However, it lost its license in September of the same year and then changed name to the "Clarendon."
