Open by 1878 with Charlotte Webb as licensee. In 1965 this was one of 7 inns in the Wincheap area. October 1969 saw the pub closed and license transferred to the Brewery Secretary and not applied for in 1971. Obviously too many other pubs in the area. After closure the premises operated as the Sportsman Cafe.
