89 Wincheap Street / Underdown Row Canterbury
Open by 1878 with Charlotte Webb as licensee. In 1965 this was one of 7 inns in the Wincheap area. October 1969 saw the pub closed and license transferred to the Brewery Secretary and not applied for in 1971. Obviously too many other pubs in the area. In 2018, after the sad death of Dave Richardson, who launched the Sportsman Cafe in 1987, the premises sat vacant for a while. New owner, Numan Sherifali, ran the cafe for 4 years, before deciding to retire and sell up. The new owner Amir Masomi gave the cafe a total makeover before re-opening it as Big Boys' Pizza.
