Canterbury

I am assuming that this establishment is in fact in Canterbury as the only reference I have for it to date is from a passage in the Kentish Gazette and Canterbury Chronicle of May 1769.

From the Kentish Gazette or Canterbury Chronicle, Wednesday 24 May to Saturday 27 May, 1769. Price 2½d.

Mr. Fox from “St. Alban's Tavern,” having taken the above Rooms, with the late Mrs. Omer's House adjoining, which is made into an elegant Tavern, and he hopes to have the Honour of the Nobility and Gentry's Commands, as he has taken Care to have a good Cook and the best of Wines, and he will make it his particular Study to oblige and spare no Pains to accommodate those who shall please to favour him with their Orders, and is their most dutiful and obedient Humble servant,

Jonas Fox.
