Above photo, 2010, kindly sent by Steve Glover and Michael Rogers, who say the "Yarmouth Arms" may well be one of these premises shown above. But they are not sure.

I haven't found reference to this pub at all as yet, but Steve Glover and Michael Rogers, in their book, "The Old Pubs of Deal and Walmer" mention that they found reference to the pun in a document mentioning the Will of widow Margaret Godshon, in 1678, where she bequeathed the premises called the "Yarmouth Arms" to her son Thomas. The house was being leased from a gentleman called Richard Gookin.
