The building was part of the "Royal Victoria and Bull Hotel" and operated as a separate pub.

In its last years it only opened on market days (Wednesday cattle and Thursday general) where customers would get their drinks from either side of the bar or through a serving hatch. The building was demolished in the early 1970s after closing in 1973 when the Arndale Shopping Centre was built.

Dartford Local Board Of Health.

A meeting of the board was held on Friday, when there were present. Mr. Cann, chairman; Messers. Kidd, Quait, Buck, and Perry.

Lowfield Street.

A letter, dated 21st December, was read from Mr. W. T. Bray, calling the attention of the board to the non-fulfillment of the order made with reference to the Lowfield street entrance to the "Black Bull Hotel." The clerk was instructed to reply that Mr. Quait and Mr. Hayward had undertaken to communicate personally with him upon the matter.
