95 Marlborough Road / 46 Park Road Gillingham
The "Falcon Inn" was in Park Place (now renamed Marlborough Road), Gillingham and was founded sometime before 1849. The exact origin of the name is uncertain, but as a pub name there are a number of potential origins. The falcon is a heraldic device used by the House of York and Queen Elizabeth I. Some Inn signs represented it as the sport of falconry, so that is another possible origin. It also appears in the badge of Trumans Brewers. The Falcon closed as a pub in 2010 and re-opened as a cafe and bakery, retaining the old name.
