Project 2014 has been started to try and identify all the pubs that are and have ever been open in Kent. I have just added this pub to that list but your help is definitely needed regarding it's history.

As the information is found or sent to me, including photographs, it will be shown here.

Thanks for your co-operation.

Belfast Telegraph, Monday 25th June 1888.

"Lamb Inn," at Milton, Sittingbourne, was burnt down this morning. The inmates narrowly escaped.

Kent & Sussex Courier, Friday 29 June 1888.

Sittingbourne fire.

Early on Monday morning, a fire broke out at the "Lamb" public house, Milton, Sittingbourne.

The house, which was largely constructed of wood, was soon one mass of flames, and the landlord, his wife, and family were at one time in imminent peril, and were obliged to escape from the burning building in their night clothes.

The house was gutted, everything being destroyed.
