The Medway Archives and Local Studies Centre has referenced a set of documents, that I haven't seen yet, and is part of the Watts Charity MSS, 1579-1972. Reference is made as follows:- 1655-1753 T4. Premises in Chatham and Rochester St. Nicholas [including several parts of the Town Ditch, in particular an, agreement by Richard Head, 1675, to build a brick stable, hayloft and coachhouse; land near a watermill called the Town Mill; 2 messuages outside the North Wall in Ship and Trumpet Alley; and the "Red Cow," Bull Lane, all in St. Nicholas, Rochester; and a wharf in Chatham] (12 docs.)
