The pub has regrettably become a Harvester Restaurant in recent times, having been first established as the "Wellington" from 1826 until 1839 when the new ("Rising Sun") name was adopted. The establishment was substantially rebuilt in 1928 and has undergone many changes to its appearance and its construction in more recent times.
