The original building was built in 1865 to cater for rail passengers, but was demolished in the 1960s to be replaced with another building of the same name.

I have been informed that the pub closed in 2008.

Maidstone Journal and Kentish Advertiser, Monday 7 June 1869.

Erith. Shocking Suicide.

At 7 o'clock on Monday morning Mr. Budd, Landlord of the "Belvoir" beer house, Belvedere, was found by his son Edward hanging in an outhouse on the premises.

On the morning in question the deceased got up about 5 o'clock and called his son, who told him it was too early to get up, on which deceased got in bed again, and his son went to sleep, and on awakening missed his father, whom he found hanging as stated.

Mr. Spurroll, surgeon, was quickly on the spot, pronounced life extinct.

(Mr Budd appears to have been licensee of the "Balloon" at the same time, although I do not know what the connection between the two houses is.)
