The Licensing Records of 1872 stated the premises held a Beer License and was owned by Mary Elizabeth Lock Beveridge of Ramsgate.

Links with the sea and the now defunct Chatham Naval Base, are maintained at the "Ropemaker's Arms," near the ropewalk where men, women and children manufactured ropes for shipping in the good old days.

After closure in November 2005 it became a Papa Johns take away.

The houses on the left of the pub were demolished in the 1960s and a church built in their place.

This pub is one in the list of my "Project 2014."

I will be adding the historical information when I find or are sent it, but this project is a very big one, and I do not know when or where the information will come from.

All emails are answered.
