The building gained a Grade 2 listing on 10 September 1954. The name being given as William Pitt once lived here whilst his home at Keston was being repaired.

Jenny & Brian (unknown surname) informs me of the following:- As far as I am aware this has never been a pub, just tea house a restaurateur over the last 40 year and and Indian until recently now reverted to a private house. However 50metres along the road was the "General Wolf" pub of the Black Eagle Brewery Westerham.

Till recently this was operating as an Indian restaurant, but unfortunately it closed in 2017 and has subsequently been converted into a private residence.
