PUB LIST PUBLIC HOUSES Paul Skelton

Earliest 1891-

(Name from)

Blacksmith's Arms

Latest 1901+

12 Northgate Street

Canterbury

Northgate car park 2014

Above Google image, June 2014 showing what I believe to be the rough location of the Blacksmith's Arms. Probably around about the entrance to the car park.

The name of the pub was mentioned in a "Poem of Canterbury", that was written around 1885.

The notes attached to that document also state that the pub used to be called the "British Flag" till about 1878. I have traced it under this name till 1882.

I am informed that it used to face the Jesus Hospital.
