BROMLEY PETTY SESSIONS, MONDAY.
The license of the "Chequers," Southborough, was transferred
from Mr. W. Lewis to William Knight.

FARNBOROUGH. PETTY SESSIONS.
James Smith of London, was charged with stealing a faggot, value 2d.,
the property of Mr. Knight, proprietor of the "Chequer's Inn,"
Southborough. (Not the Southborough near Royal
Tunbridge Wells, but near Bromley. Paul Skelton.) Prosecutor had lost some fifty faggots from a stock and
failed to detect the thieves until prisoner, who was one of a large
party of harvesters, was seen by a witness, John Walker, to take the
faggot from the stack. Prisoner was fined 10s. and 3s. 6d. costs, and in
default was committed to prison for 14 days.
