BROADSTAIRS INQUEST.
W. H. Payn, Esq., Coroner for the Borough of Dover and its liberties,
held an inquest at the "George Inn," Broadstairs, on Saturday, touching
the death of Emma Randall, who was found dead the previous day.
Deceased was subject to fainting fits, and was found lying in her
kitchen, with a large cut on her head, buy a woman named Mary Shoulders.
Edward D'Arcy Evezard, the surgeon who attended the deceased, when he
first saw her said she had apparently been dead about an hour. There
were no other marks of violence except the cut on her head. he did not
know the actual cause of death, and did not notice anything about the
room to arouse suspicion. Another surgeon deposed to attending deceased,
and said he thought death had occurred from heart disease. The jury
returned a verdict accordance with the medical testimony.

Special Sessions for the transfer of licences were held at the Dover
Police Court on Friday, before Messrs. W. B. Brett, T. Francis, H. J,
Burton, and S. Lewis, when the following transfers were made:-
The “George Inn," Broadstairs from Mr. James George Taylor to Mr.
James Marsh, late of the "Hussar Hotel," Garlinge, Kent.

After changing name to the "Barnaby
Rudge" in 1960 it remained with that name till 2015 when it again
reverted back to the "George."
