Wrotham Hill / London Road Stansted
In 1873 Tommy Atkins was seen begging at this pub before being apprehended for the murder of Police Constable Israel May. (See details.) Situated on Old London Road (A20). Renovated by the previous owners into a gastropub in 2011, it was closed and sold in 2016 and has just stood there with scaffolding on it until recently. It has been ”in the process of being converted into a residential property” for over two years.
