THE DAUGHTER'S GRAVE.

On Thursday evening, whilst the assistant keeper of Erith Cemetery was making his usual round, he heard two shots fired, and upon investigation discovered the body of a man lying on a grave, with a revolver in his clenched hand. He sent for the police, and the body was removed to the mortuary and identified as that of Charles William Outram, of the "Emperor" public-house, High-road, Chiswick, and formally proprietor of the "Prince Alfred," Erith. The grave on which he shot himself is that of his daughter, whom he lost seven years ago.

Not to be confused with the "Royal Alfred" (They are about 2 miles apart.)

Alfred Ernest Albert, Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha Alfred; (6 August 1844 – 30 July 1900) was the second son and fourth child of Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom and Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha.

Jim Packer author of the "Lost Pubs of Bexley" says that a 3 year licence expired 2001 and pub was converted to 3 flats.
