Originally called the "Three Compasses" this pub has changed name several times from the 1970s. In order of change it's been "Arkwright's Wheel, "Scruffy Murphy's", and lastly having lost two of it's original compasses, and probably it's direction it's last name of simply the "Compass." Not sure of any of the dates of change as yet, but been called the "Compass" since 2008, possibly earlier. It's closure in January 2016 saw it turn into a Pizza Restaurant called Franca Manca.
