This pub has been found by author and historian Michael David Mirams, who says the premises was tied to Whitbread's in the 1960s after being Tomson and Wotton. He infers that this may well still be the off-licence that is now addressed as 126, Margate Road and still goes under the name of the "North Star." He goes on to say that the license may well have been transferred from an Inn situated in Trinity Square, Reading Street, Broadstairs, also called the "North Star" that was destroyed by fire in 1908, when a young child decided to check whether it was raining by holding a candle out of an upper window. The roof being thatched caught fire.

Further information received from Tony Overden says the following:- "I have a draft lease dated 30th April 1915 that following the death of Frank Spinner the leaseholder of a shop and dwelling on the corner of St David's Avenue with Hereson Road, Ramsgate. The leasehold was sold as probate to Tomsom & Wotton by George Spinner on the 30th April 1915. The premises then became known as the North Star.
