I have reference to another pub called the "Prince of Wales" in the High Street and another "Prince of Wales" addressed at Stonehorse Lane. At present I don't know whether there is any connection between them.

This was mentioned in a book called the "History of Strood" by Henry Smetham, published 1899 who says this was situated to the west side of the Canal Road.

Ind Coope & Co Ltd purchased the pub from Budden & Biggs Brewery Ltd by conveyance and assignment dated 23 March 1931. The pub held a full license.

I am informed that this one sadly closed in the 1920s, but think that information should read 1930s probably just after purchase.
