Deal

Mentioned in Steve Glover and Michael Rogers book The Old Pubs of Deal and Walmer.

Situated in the old Flicks cinema this changed name many times between 1989 when it was known as the "Laughing Toad" a members only club. and between 1989 and 2003 it was also known as "MD's," "Velvet Underground," "Tube," and "Alby's," but I am not sure whether that is the correct order.

In June 2003 the building was renovated and opened in two parts as the "Academy Sports Bar and the Rivals" nightclub.
