Tonbridge

Only one reference found to this at present, and hopefully not being confused for the "New Market Inn" or indeed the "New Inn" on Royal Tunbridge Wells.

Further research tell me that this was indeed the "New Inn" located at Royal Tunbridge Wells, and not Tonbridge as reported in the 3 July article. They so often got the two mixed. It does make life difficult, which is why I am leaving this reference here.

Kentish Gazette, 3 July, 1792.

"London Hotel," Ramsgate.

William Young from the "New Inn," Tonbridge takes the liberty of informing the Nobility, Gentry, and Inhabitants of the town of Ramsgate, that he has opened the above Hotel; and by the preparation he has made for the reception of company, he flatters himself he shall give general satisfaction.

Every attention for the accommodation of his friends, and their favours most gratefully acknowledged.

Good stabling and coach houses.

Post chaises, with able horses and careful drivers.

Kentish Gazette, 10 July, 1792.
